Still have a question?Email Russ directly
01How much does a home inspection cost in Ottawa?

Keystone's current inspection prices begin at $450 for a condo or townhouse, $500 for a small or medium detached home, $550 for a large home over 2,500 ft², and $600 for a home more than 50 years old. HST is additional. Property details may affect final pricing, so contact Keystone to confirm your quote.

02How long does a residential home inspection take?

The time required depends on the home's size, age, construction and visible condition. Larger and older properties may take longer. Russ prioritizes a careful, methodical inspection rather than rushing through the property.

03Should I attend and follow along?

Yes. Buyers and homeowners are encouraged to attend whenever possible. Following along lets you see important findings firsthand, ask questions and learn more about the home's systems, operation and future maintenance.

04What does the home inspection include?

A standard inspection reviews visible and accessible components of the structure, exterior, roof, electrical system, plumbing, heating and cooling, interior, attic, insulation and ventilation. It is a visual, non-invasive inspection performed in accordance with applicable professional standards.

05What is the difference between pre-purchase and pre-listing inspections?

A pre-purchase inspection helps a prospective buyer understand a property's visible condition before completing the transaction. A pre-listing inspection helps the current owner identify concerns before marketing the home, allowing more time to consider repairs or prepare disclosures.

06What will I receive after the inspection?

You will receive a clear electronic PDF report with photographs, descriptions of observed defects, safety or maintenance concerns, and practical recommendations for repair, monitoring or further professional evaluation where appropriate.

07Are mold, asbestos and radon tests included?

A standard home inspection is primarily visual and does not automatically include specialized environmental testing. If conditions suggest a potential concern, Russ may recommend evaluation or testing by an appropriately qualified specialist.

08Where does Keystone provide home inspections?

Keystone serves Ottawa, Gloucester, Orléans, Embrun, Cumberland, Rockland, Nepean, Barrhaven and Riverside South. If your community is not listed, contact Keystone to confirm availability.
